Dr. Michael Iwanoff's dental clinic as been certified to dispense the OravitalTM System, a powerful diagnostic and treatment protocol for oral infections including gingivitis (sensitive or bleeding gums), periodontitis (gum disease), and hallitosis (chronic bad breath).
What is OravitalTM?
The OravitalTM System features comprehensive microbiology diagnostics and targeted, topical medication to rebalance oral bacteria that are in an infected state. OravitalTM is patient-friendly, non-invasive, safe and very effective.
A healthy mouth for a healthy body
Oral infections, even when relatively mild, can affect the health of the whole body. Bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and create an immune response elsewhere in the body, elevating the risk of many serious conditions like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, pneumonia, and pregnancy complications.
Kids & oral infections
Did you know that bacteria repsonsible for oral infection are highly transferable? Studies show that if parents have an existing oral infection, it's very likely that their children have or will have the same oral bacteria. Whenever you give your child a kiss or share a drink, you also share your bacteria. Testing kids early and treating with OravitalTM when necessary will give them a better change for a healthier future.
Patient benefits after just 2 weeks:
- 87% reduction in bleeding points (bleeding gums)
- 76-84% reduction in periodontal pockets
- 79% reduction in breath odor
- Reduce oral-systemic risks
- Control oral infections

Hi, my name is Lorraine Oattes.
When I first moved to Ottawa almost 26 years ago, I was not happy at all with the Dentist I found. So as luck would have it one day I saw a sign on a door regarding the services of a Dr. Michael Iwanoff and I wasted no time booking an appointment. I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Iwanoff for at least 20 years. Not too many people can say that they look forward to seeing their dentist, even for a checkup, as you don't always know what may be discovered and the possible follow treatment, thereafter. Dr Iwanoff is not only the most professional in his work but he takes the time to greet you with and smile and kind words that are always much appreciated.
I have noticed other friends/family and the work they have had done and I am always telling them to switch to my dentist as his work is so much better. I have referred Dr. Iwanoff to some of my co-workers in the past. My spouse also is a patient, but no offense to the Dr., he just doesn't like to go.
Several years ago, at the age of 38, I had a baby tooth that had really loosened, I could have pulled it myself, but being the chicken I was and as a tooth grinder I was afraid of swallowing it or choking in my sleep. I called Dr Iwanoff, it was a Saturday morning and he advised me to meet him at his office downtown. He opened up the office specifically for me and for a procedure that took probably a minute. That says alot to me about the care of a patient.
His staff over the years have also been professional and courteous to me. I did, however, have issues with one person in particular many years ago and I called Dr. Iwanoff about it. He called me back and expressed his concern and appreciated that I addressed the matter to him. That person is no longer there and I have not had a problem with any staff since.
Just over a year ago, I saw Dr Iwanoff and presented him with a funny photo of my cat, Maggie, lying back with her mouth wide open and exposing all her teeth.
The caption read, " Is there anything in my teeth?" He got a chuckle out of it. Sadly a month later, I had to put Maggie down. The next day I was back at Dr. Iwanoff's office and I was thinking of my cat on my way in. When I looked at the reception desk, there was the picture of my Maggie, now framed, for all to see. I was so touched that Dr. Iwanoff liked the photo enough to display it. I was told that many of the patients got a chuckle from the photo as well. It really cheered up a very sad me.
As we all get older I am concerned about how much longer I will receive the level of care and treatment that I have been so fortunate to have had these many years. I hope for Dr. Iwanoff to one day take the time to enjoy a long retirement, he much deserves but hopefully leaves his patients to someone who will continue his great work. He is a tough act to follow.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Oattes
