Good afternoon all!
I simply wanted to say how thrilled I am following my visit yesterday! Don't think I've ever walked out with such a HUGE smile on my face! Not only was Diane able to do my whole cleaning in one shot, but better yet, she was able to do it without any anaesthetics!!!! That's a first for me, I hope Dr. Iwanoff is proud, lol! Not that I minded the anaesthetics, since Dr. Iwanoff is the BEST given that I never felt pain when he administered it, but I'm happy that my gums have healed enough to allow me a "true" cleaning like normal people! I'd like to add that Diane was REALLY great! She was very gentle and conscious of my sensitive spots. I can honestly say now that I do not dread my next visit, yay!
Following this news and other perks from Dr. Iwanoff's office, my boyfriend has decided to switch dentist and he will be joining the Iwanoff team!

Just wanted to say that I was impressed with your office during my visit this morning. You are both professional and fun and the technical staff are also very professional. The great Dr. Iwanoff seems to be a genuine guy with a good sense of humour. My mouth was never so thoroughly examined as today and I feel like I am in good hands.

Hi, my name is Lorraine Oattes.
When I first moved to Ottawa almost 26 years ago, I was not happy at all with the Dentist I found. So as luck would have it one day I saw a sign on a door regarding the services of a Dr. Michael Iwanoff and I wasted no time booking an appointment. I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Iwanoff for at least 20 years. Not too many people can say that they look forward to seeing their dentist, even for a checkup, as you don't always know what may be discovered and the possible follow treatment, thereafter. Dr Iwanoff is not only the most professional in his work but he takes the time to greet you with and smile and kind words that are always much appreciated.
I have noticed other friends/family and the work they have had done and I am always telling them to switch to my dentist as his work is so much better. I have referred Dr. Iwanoff to some of my co-workers in the past. My spouse also is a patient, but no offense to the Dr., he just doesn't like to go.
Several years ago, at the age of 38, I had a baby tooth that had really loosened, I could have pulled it myself, but being the chicken I was and as a tooth grinder I was afraid of swallowing it or choking in my sleep. I called Dr Iwanoff, it was a Saturday morning and he advised me to meet him at his office downtown. He opened up the office specifically for me and for a procedure that took probably a minute. That says alot to me about the care of a patient.
His staff over the years have also been professional and courteous to me. I did, however, have issues with one person in particular many years ago and I called Dr. Iwanoff about it. He called me back and expressed his concern and appreciated that I addressed the matter to him. That person is no longer there and I have not had a problem with any staff since.
Just over a year ago, I saw Dr Iwanoff and presented him with a funny photo of my cat, Maggie, lying back with her mouth wide open and exposing all her teeth.
The caption read, " Is there anything in my teeth?" He got a chuckle out of it. Sadly a month later, I had to put Maggie down. The next day I was back at Dr. Iwanoff's office and I was thinking of my cat on my way in. When I looked at the reception desk, there was the picture of my Maggie, now framed, for all to see. I was so touched that Dr. Iwanoff liked the photo enough to display it. I was told that many of the patients got a chuckle from the photo as well. It really cheered up a very sad me.
As we all get older I am concerned about how much longer I will receive the level of care and treatment that I have been so fortunate to have had these many years. I hope for Dr. Iwanoff to one day take the time to enjoy a long retirement, he much deserves but hopefully leaves his patients to someone who will continue his great work. He is a tough act to follow.

Thank you for the (usual) great work this morning. I was worried all weekend - would I come out with Chicklet teeth? Would the colour match? Would my front teeth be ruined forever? Would it hurt?
No. No. No. And absolutely no!
To my surprise it's not the cosmetic result I'm most pleased with. It's the understanding now of how exposed my teeth were feeling, how delicate they felt and how I was worrying about them so much it was something I thought about far more frequently than I realized. As my tongue goes to those places now I'm realizing how much stronger, "covered" and secure they feel. This is GREAT!
I told myself this morning "relax, you are in the best of hands." Well I sure am. I appreciate the wonderful team and lovely care you all show me today and every visit.

Hi Michael, don't know if you remember me, but I used to be your patient 30 years ago - (I think my ex still sees u?)...in any case, I now live in Florida and wanted to share this with you. Some of the work you did on me back in approx. 1981 is a crown on my lower left side - and I remember you telling me 'well, you've got at least a couple of million bites on that before it will need to be replaced again' - and I remember guessing it with you to be about 20 years of so... Well, I just wanted to let you know that your work has lasted me 30 long wonderful years! I am just now in need of having to address some sensitivity to it - and thought you'd like to know that. I felt it to be not only imperative, but very important for you to hear how very much I have (always) appreciated you as a professional. Your work is superior and your approach always very caring. The warmth and kindness of your office staff as well needs to be commended (as I am sure it is still reflective of your standards for great service today).
Thank you for what you have done - I know your patients are in EXTREMELY GREAT HANDS!

I was first treated by Dr. Iwanoff in 1983 when I was working on 'the Hill'. When I returned to Ottawa in 2008 after living about 12 years in B.C. I wasn't too optimistic about getting back on his list. I knew how good he was and how popular. So I consider myself very fortunate to have been accepted. Dr. Michael and I have worked to achieve the goal we set in 1983 -- to keep my own teeth as long as possible. I'm now 84 and so far, so good! He's tops in my book!

After years of coming home complaining about the painful and stressful experiences with my former dentists, I finally listened to my late wife and went to see her dentist, Dr. Michael Iwanoff. I never thought I could look forward to a dental visit, but I find that I enjoy going to see Dr. Iwanoff and his staff. They are all friendly and personable professionals, and you feel a sense of family as soon as you enter his relaxing front office. I also know that my dental needs are in excellent hands. Since I have moved to Toronto, and Dr. Iwanoff regrettably is not, after many years I am forced to find a new dentist.
